Hey, I’m Romy and Ambivalent Shredding is just an elaborate way for me to meet people in North Beach while hopefully contributing something cool to the neighborhood.
So why shred your work? The answer can be as simple or as convoluted as you want:
- Drawing is fun but you don’t need any more fridge art.
- Writing down your troubles and destroying them is a great emotional release.
- You’re a recovering perfectionist who needs to practice detaching your sense of self-worth from the work you produce in a low-stakes setting.
- Using the hand crank shredder is really satisfying.
Whatever the reason, you’re invited to draw and write for as long or as short as you’d like.
And if you end up wanting to keep your art, defeating the purpose of all of this, that’s ok! We’re adults. I won’t yell at you =)
